Literally the Most- 6 Years After Getting Expelled, Conor McGregors SparringPartner Cal

Dillon Danis is not pleased with Marcelo Garcia. Not because of what transpired between the two almost 6 years back, but with his former BJJ coach’s recent U-turn. It was 2017 and Garcia handed him a suspension and further asked him to “take some time off” and “refocus”. The reason? The American was losing focus, and the internal strife in the gym was on the rise.

The 40-year-old BJJ coach, in an emotional video, painted the blame on Danis’ increasing focus on social media. Also, he believed social media was not an “important” thing, and that forced his hand to take a decision. Now, 6 years down the line, the Brazilian submission grappler is singing praises of Gordon Ryan, for the same reason he expelled Danis.

The 29-year-old reacted to Garcia’s latest post, in which he lauded ‘The King’ Gordon Ryan for his own ways of helping BJJ grow. Acknowledging Ryan’s efforts, Garcia wrote, “it was really nice to hear how he thinks he can help to grow jiu jitsu”.

He continued, “that is good for all of us who love it , who make a living out of it , we both have the same goal , even though doing it different ways ,I hope he continues to bring jiu jitsu to the next level .”

As expected, the comments didn’t sit well with the Bellator star. Thus, Conor McGregor‘s sparring partner, in response, declared, “Literally the most hypocritical thing I ever seen in my life.”

Currently, Danis is sparring with UFC stars such as Alex Pereira and ‘The Notorious’. He also teased a future with WWE as he appeared in a frame with Triple H and captioned the image as “negotiations”.

Meanwhile, Garcia and Ryan have come closer in recent months, as Ryan extended his helping hand to ailing Garcia. ‘Marcelinho’ was battling stomach cancer and his treatment was underway. Ryan, a 5-time ADCC champion, also had his own fair share of stomach struggles in the recent past.

Ryan reached out to BJJ Fnatics and recorded a seminar and contributed 100% proceedings of that seminar to Garcia. While Garcia neither needed nor asked for help, Ryan helped his fellow submission grappler as he felt his pain. This brokered talks between the two greats and is the start of a great friendship.
